The barracks I lived in on Ft Hood were less than a mile from a tank range, so we always knew when night quals were going on. I live near Buckley, so I also know when drill weekends are going on for either ANG or ArNG.

Yeah, I'm not shittin you, I heard it too up here in Colo Spr. I couldn't mute my TV because the wife had the remote but was asleep in the recliner so I couldn't get a clear idea of what I was hearing. I couldn't get outside before the sounds stopped either, but I definitely heard something earlier.

You will notice the guns of ft Carson more in the winter. When the temperature gets real low the cold air lets helps the sound travel (it's physics and shit).
