So pretty much the same way you would in a tent, but without the extra weight? Looks like you run the tarp as low as possible to reduce drafts and make the space above you as small as possible?

Pretty much. It is a very light option. First try with it in the winter months. Very happy with how it worked. I ran as low to the ground as I could to reduce the air under me. If needed I could also pile up snow along the opening at the bottom of the tarp also.
