How was the road getting out there??
8 mile round trip hike to Crystal Mill and Crystal, 8/3/2013.
If you have 4WD and decent clearance, not a problem getting to the parking places below Lizard Lake. If it is dry you could even get there with a 2WD truck. We could have driven all the way up to Crystal in my FJ, but wanted to see everything so did the hike.
Cool - I have a silverado 4wd and planning to hike Snowmass from that way.

Trail Ridge Road this past Friday. Rode across with the wife and stayed in Winter Park overnight.
