    Wasn't that bad.

I don't like the issue with doctors asking about guns, but the Affordable Care Act does prohibit them recording the information or sharing it. My doctor won't ask me - he's ex-military.

The other stuff has to go to Congress. I just hope my back-ordered pmags come in soon (they're for gifts, of course, since the boating accident).

maybe im missing it but the EO's didn't seem to cover a ban on guns so much as it enables the gov to take them slowly in the name of health.but maybe im reading it wrong

I don't know about you, but that is bad, next you will need a bar code tattooed on your arm to own a firearm.
He just suggested that congress pass these. His EO's didn't really do much of anything.

#2 should raise the hairs on the back of your neck!! Talk about invasion of privacy: 2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

"unnecessary legal barriers"? How about OUR RIGHTS?

Who runs the background check system?

This is a HUGE open door to no more privacy, especially when it's combined with #16 as has been previously mentioned.

C'mon people: these pragmatic, outcome-based rationales for stripping us of our rights is 'death by 1000 cuts' and will not end well for us citizens. Study history. Especially study the history of Germany. One little step at a time. One little, seemingly unrelated freedom that was given up. To what end?

This was a photo-op, dog and pony show.

No substance. (and that's a good thing).

The worst parts he's going to "ask congress" for ... which he likely won't get.

Overall this went better than I expected, but yes that's no excuse for backing down.
