The mad rush for ARs and 30 rnd. Mags will go even crazier. He'll there will even be a demand for the Mossberg tactical lever action rifles.

Put the words "Tactical, "Hi Capacity" or "Assault" on any weapon and it will sell for 4X MSRP if you can one.

Nation wide if we don't have an AWB and/or mag ban by March it'll start dying down.

Here in Colorado its going to be real bad for another month or so and then I expect we won't be allowed to buy/sell anything "assault" style or full capacity magazines and we'll all have to go through FFLs so that will probably keep prices up permanently (but not as high as they are now).

So I guess I'm saying we have another month or two of panic.

The fact is, anything you already own when they make a law forbidding it they can't take away from you. The constitution forbids retroactive laws (ex post facto). So if it was legal when you bought it, it will remain legal for you to own, no matter if it's banned or not. They can't just change the law and make you a criminal retroactively. And if they do, then they're officially tyrannical and you don't have to listen to them anyways.

I don't think they're going to ban AR's, but I wouldn't put it past them. I think there's a good chance they'll ban 30 round magazines, or "clips" as they call them. There is no reason for the panic buying to end now. I think this whole debate is just beginning.

That hasn't stopped them from trying in the past. They just ask that you voluntary comply...and many people do. See Executive Order 6102 and 6260.
