    Default Funny first gun story

A good friend of mine called me today on his way home from work to bitch about everything that is going on and about 0's press conference this morning. Once we were both fired up and pissed off he brought up the fact that at least he still has the "double shooter."

Back when we were in college we went to a gunshow together. This was in good ol Grand Junction. We were both broke college students but he was convinced that he was going to get a gun, he had $35. I told him that there was NO way he was walking out of the gunshow with a $35 gun. I think he took that as a challenge.

We checked every booth and one guy had the crappiest .22 revolver I have ever seen for $100. I dont know what it was but it had to be at least 30 or 40 years old. My buddy negotiated with the vendor for at least an hour, maybe more. I don't know because I got bored and walked off. Well somehow he talked the guy in to $35.

Shortly after that we went out to the desert to shoot my guns and he brought his new purchase. First trigger pull went bang, I have to admit I was pretty impressed that the gun even fired. Second shot went click, third fired and so on. I think he got three shots off and then none more would work, so he opened the cylinder and to our surprise there were 6 empty cartridges. What the hell? Only 3 shots were fired?!

So yeah, long story short this gun shoots 2 rounds at a time, one out of the barrel and one out of the cylinder. I dont think he ever shot it again but he still has it. I have too many memories of when we rented a house in college and he would come out of his room in the middle of the night in his underwear (not a pretty sight) with that piece of shit gun because he though he heard a noise. This was after we found out it shoots 2 rounds at a time. He has since upgraded to some nicer guns I a happy to say.

    Any other first gun stories?

ETA: HE JUST TEXTED ME: It is a Clerke revolver, and he got it for $30.

Looks like this (but way crappier if that is even possible)

A revolver 6 shot machine gun

He has since taken it to a gunsmith and gotten it fixed (about a decade ago) but he still calls it the doubleshooter.

Haha I had a Rossi 357 that was my first bitch, when I got it I bought a box and took it out and didn't hit shit. So I took it home and looked in the barrel and there was a rediculous of lead built up I tryed for months to try to get it cleaned up but nothing worked. After about 10 boxes of ammo I finally figured out it was just a peice of shit I couldn't even hit shit at point blank range and didn't even know where the bullet went. I ended up trading it for a 870 wingmaster.

I had a stoeger condor o/u that was like that.

1 pull of the trigger set off both barrels, and neither hit anywhere near where they were aimed. did that from the first time I pulled the trigger right out of the box

Clerke is the WORST revolver ever made. Worse than a Rohm, worse than a Burgo, worse than an Omega. An RG-14 is several steps up from a Clerke . . . and RG is worse than a Davis or a Raven.

not exactly about my gun, but my first gun was a nine shot 22 revolver i was maybe 5, we went out to shoot it the first time with my dad, we drove 10 miles or so out into the Arizona desert and set up a few targets, we shot the guns for about an hour and were getting ready to leave. on the way back to the car I tripped and fell down right on top an old $20 dollar bill. How the hell that 20 wound up way out there in the middle of the desert I'll never know. It spent like it was new though.

My first gun was a break away .22lr. It worked like shit but I loved it. Someone even ripped it off from me but I got it back by beating my room mates ass. Had it back that week. He sold it for $100 to some guy that worked in the mall. I remember I had to cock the hammer to shot it, well if it shot ......lol miss it. Thought I was Jesse James, and not the wanta be bike builder.

Even though my dad had guns and we went and shot targets I did not "get into" guns tell my father-in-law gave me my first gun, a 1942 Winchester Model 12. I then started hunting birds and decided to get into waterfowl and then all of a suden I no longer had money. It was going to getting a new 870 to handle the steel shot, shot shells, decoys, camo and then big game hunting. Hunting and shooting have consumed my life and my wife blames it on her father.
