Children should be a part of the conversation and need to learn the principles of the constitution, guns and debate. It a very empowering experience. Being properly informed and being a part of the family activities is a big part in creating character and a good thought process. They need to understand the responsibility that will be passed to them one day and if they are not a part of it or left out, they will have very little interest. Many of the soldiers who fought for this country in the first place were children. I guess many in history try to ignore that. We have allowed our children to watch these debates, protests (both sides) and they have been able to see with their own eyes dishonesty and honesty and how responsible our side has been with the whole debate. So I would say yes, it builds confidence and shows them there is nothing to fear from the big bad gun owners.

Also I hope you knw our nations youth is being brain washed by our liberal teachers, I was talking to my neices and nephew when the election was happening. They said the school had a mock election and Obama won with 97% and Romny with 3% and they said Gary johnson and Ron Paul werent on the ballot. This is a k-8 school so I asked what the teachers said about each canidate I cant remember now but its basicly what you would expect to hear from a liberal about Obama and Mitt. I was pissed as was my brother, I think political veiws should be left out of or schools but they are not so it's our job to teach our kids what is right.

Exactly why we have been making sure that our children are Factually informed about things. They come home and tell us all the bull the teachers are trying to feed them. They know better and every once in a while they get into it with the teachers about fact from fiction. Its not just politics anymore, its revisionist history also.

I'll try to bring one if not both children for the experience that they too can make their voice heard.

I told my 14yo son they were talking about banning the violent games - he's pretty pissed off now.

There wont be any guns there -- its a temporary gun free zone or so I am reading -- so all the kids will be perfectly safe.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Our daughter was one of the speakers at the 2nd Amendment Sisters Million mom March Counter rally way back when. She was 12ish at the time.

Bring the children, but be prepared. Do the same as you would do if you and your kids were in any public place. Have a designated meeting point if you get split up (hug a tree or statue) or stay put, find a cop etcetera. I would not be surprised if there were one or two scumbags planted in the crowd to make the good guys look bad.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement to bring the kids. We went as a family and it was a great day. I really didn't know quite what to expect, but your encouragement helped.
