Be aware of your target AND STOP SHOOTING AT ME!

I went out to the shooting area near Woodland park yesterday packing my shotgun with some number 6 birdshot. I was walking around some brushy areas to try to scare up some rabbits for dinner. As I crested a small hill near some boulders, BULLETS STARTED WHIZZING BY ME! I dove behind a large granite boulder for some cover, while the dumbass reloaded and kept shooting in my direction, even hitting trees just a few feet away from me! I estimate that the shots were coming from around 80 yards give or take, and I yelled out to him that "I'm over here" and he KEPT SHOOTING! I'd estimate that the guy probably fired 20 or 30 rounds in my direction with some kind of semi-auto, shooting as fast as he could. I never did see the guy shooting, so "returning fire", as some have suggested, was not an option. Besides, what was I going to do with birdshot at 80 yards anyway. After there was a lull for a moment, I took off down the hill and got out of there. I was so pissed off I just left the woods.

Moral of the story is BE AWARE OF YOUR TARGET AND BACKSTOP!

And though I was just wearing jeans and a blue tee shirt, I guess that's not good enough and I will be getting some of that stupid blaze orange.

The South Site has some areas where the lines of fire overlap. Some nimrods there have no concept of that. I usually go further in so nobody is close to me.

That was my thought. When I'm shooting I double up ear plugs under ear muffs and you can scream all you want but I likely won't hear you.

when I said shooting area, I was referring to a ginormous chunk of land that is probably hundreds of square miles. It was just so people would know where I was talking about. Again, ya must not have been there. It was my fault for getting shot at? I was nowhere near a "range" of any sort. You just go out there and shoot wherever you want and these dipshits had no concept of safety.
