So, with the online membership sign up ( https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/s...0&hid=21009570 ) you get a free rosewood handle knife, or black and gold duffel bag, or digital camo duffel bag. As well as a subscription to one of these magazines: American Rifleman, American Hunter, or America's First Freedom.

Which magazine is the better of the 3 (I'm not a hunter, so that kinda leaves the other two only). And are the free gifts as crappy as all other free gifts for other subscriptions out there? Is there a way to opt out of the free gift?

And why is it that when I go to a different website, there is only the offer for the magazine subscription? Are these different "NRAs"?

Or here and get a free $25 gift card to Bass Pro:

I know that when you accept return gifts like this, it takes away from your donation so I may opt out of the magazine as well, just because I don't need another magazine and am really not that interested in it.

I get the Rifleman as well. It's a lot of ads selling NRA coins and other worthless crap (just begging for money), but there are some good articles, and The Armed Citizen page is always a good read.

I finally got around to picking up a lifetime membership yesterday, with the current promotion they're running for that.

I've also been worried about the "campaign-mode" thing, and hope that they step forward in-kind and find someone really charismatic and knowledgable to do the outreach....Who knows, maybe they could fund a bunch of prime-time TV ads (like we see around election time) and work to get someone like Col. Grossman (or others with similar creds & presentation abilities) to do sit-downs with as many news networks as possible...

Is there a difference in the insurance offered between the different memberships. The full price memberships say get insurance for you and your guns while the discounted memberships offer $7500 in insurance??

I've gotten First Freedom for years (10+) and it's pretty good, but it's all the political stuff. And honestly, lately I get more of that online. When my wife joined a few years back, she gets American Hunter and it's not bad at all. You still get the common things (armed citizen, the different columns, etc) but really i've learned something every time in the articles. (long time shooter, relatively new hunter). I think the rifleman one is done better by guns/american handgunner/internet.

take the gifts. nothing pisses off liberals more than having a NRA environment saving cloth shopping bag.

Now to decide if I send some money to RMGO.
Do the raffle for the AR, spend $30 bucks as a donation and get a membership to boot, and then filter them.
