Precursor: Before I get into this, let it be known that I do NOT care for your opinion about what weight of trigger pull is "unsafe" for daily carry and should only be a " range" or "competition" weight...I dont give a damn for it...it's a bunch of bullshit and Weapons dont ND due to trigger pull weight or modifications (**unless improper installation occurs**) they ND due to the NEGLIGENCE of the Owner. (My Daily Carry gun is an M&P at 3.27lbs pull and Yes I carry it chambered, and NO I haven't ever had a Negligent Discharge)
I'm not trying to kick the dead horse, but I also didn't want to bump the 3.5lb connector thread due to the slightly different relation of topic.
Regardless, I have a couple brand new Gen 4 Glock 19's waiting for me at my local gun store, and yes...I'm already planning to F**K with it. What can I say, I cant leave shit alone...
Either way, I see a lot of options for Glock's as far as triggers, springs, barrels, etc. And I'm trying to determine what I want to do.
I hear a lot of talk about different poundage connectors, I understand there is an 8lbs, a stock one, and then a 3.5lbs connector, and from what I understand it simply adjusts how the trigger bar makes contact.
I have detailed stripped few Glock's in the past, just not a Gen 4, I'm sure the internal components are very similar..
Moving on, here are some questions and observations I've made..
I find it interesting ho similar and yet dissimilar parts are from my M&P to the Glock, mostly what I'm referring to here is what Smith Refers to as the "Striker Block" Glock refers to as the "Safety block" or something...
In the M&P This striker block was beveled and polished to change how the trigger bar makes contact with it to help smooth out the action...I'm curious as to if this is the same concept with the Glock...I understand its purpose and I understand why It is done in the M&P, but would this same premise apply to the G19?
Reference:
Next is all the different spring options, The M&P I didn't change a whole lot of the springs, just the Sear Spring and trigger return spring, then with the glock I see a lot of different options, does anybody have any knowledge or feedback on different products and how they performed in their weapons? Or perhaps brands or particular products to avoid and why you feel that way?
