Default Would it be appropriate/safe to bring children to the pro 2nd amend rally on Sat @ the Capital?

It seems like this event could have something bad happen by someone wanting to stir up trouble and make gun owners look crazy. Is anyone out there planning to go as a family and bring their children?

The organizers are asking for families attend. I doubt that anything dangerous is going to occur but as always, keep a quick means of egress available to yourself and your family.

I just read the update from one of the folks organizing- I'm considering volunteering to help with security. They just increased their permit from 500 to 1500, and CSP is going to be increasing their officers present for the extra amount of people. I imagine it'll be safe for children, we're the good guys, not Occupy.

We always did that with the offshore baits, they lasted longer when properly brined the night before.

Children should be a part of the conversation and need to learn the principles of the constitution, guns and debate. It a very empowering experience. Being properly informed and being a part of the family activities is a big part in creating character and a good thought process. They need to understand the responsibility that will be passed to them one day and if they are not a part of it or left out, they will have very little interest. Many of the soldiers who fought for this country in the first place were children. I guess many in history try to ignore that. We have allowed our children to watch these debates, protests (both sides) and they have been able to see with their own eyes dishonesty and honesty and how responsible our side has been with the whole debate. So I would say yes, it builds confidence and shows them there is nothing to fear from the big bad gun owners.
