Only works if you are running in sweep mode, normal cruising and the specialized sonar would be useless. But with GPS and sounding charts I still do not understand how they are maneuvering in areas with reefs

Actually, the Concordia was flipped on purpose, and the capt saved a shitload of lives by doing so.
