Anyone have a GoPro? Need help!

The GF got me the new GoPro Hero3 Black Edition for christmas. Got a top of the line 64g SD card for it, or so im told. When i download and play back the footage its all choppy.

I contacted them and he sent me some info to help the problem. I converted the footage away from an MP4 to some other shit he told me to click on ( sorry not a computer guy)
Check the computer info and it more than meets the criteria needed to playback. so i dont think thats the problem. Its a Mac

I downloaded the Cinatune from GoPros website to edit and play back footage and that still is no good.

The only way i have been able to get it to play smooth is if i turn the resolution way down (720) and the frame rate to 30fps. Getting mad cause this is supposed to be a high def camera and so far i got shit


Most likely im fudging something up or im missing something.

I had the same issue with my hero 2. I bought a class 10 SD card thinking that was the issue, nope. For me, the issue was my laptop. It was on power saver mode and by switching it to high performance (Vista), my laptop was able to use its processor to full potential. This got ride of the choppy-ness.

This does sound like a processing power issue on your Mac's part. Check to see if it is in a power save mode. Also, how old is the Mac

its about 3 years old. its a desktop. not seeing anything in the power modes that looks restrictive

Desktop? iMac (notebook in a display), Mac Mini (notebook in a box), or a Mac Pro (server class hardware in a recyclable chassis)?

Upload to youtube etc and see if that help, usually gopro issues are comp related

Do you have a xbox 360 or ps3. They have plenty of processing power, you could at least play the video on there and whether or not it plays would give me a better indication to what the issue is. A 3 year old mac should have a decent CPU. Are there settings on a mac to adjust CPU speed? Im not mac savvy

I have a GoPro2 and never had a problem with the video and u have been using it on the highest resolution. Sounds Luke others are giving some good advice though.
