Default Reed Exhibitions - Who Puts on SHOT Show - banning AR/AK Style Firearms At Other Events

I received the following information from a FaceBook Friend, MissBattleBorn:
For those of you who don't know, Reed Exhibitions - who puts on the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show - has decided to ban AR and AK type rifles from that event this year. Their statement on it can be read on the front page of the event website here: http://www.easternsportshow.com/There is a large list of vendors/sponsors/personalities who have withdrawn from the show as a result of that decision, including some big names like Cabela's. I have great appreciation for Cabela's for taking the stand they have on this, as well as the other vendors who have done the same. I think it's important that we know who stands with us on issues that are important to us and support those companies accordingly.
On a side note, Reed Exhibitions is also the company who puts on SHOT Show.
    Thoughts?
Verified from the Reed Exhibitions Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show website (under the "Join the Conversation" section):
As a hunting-focused event, we welcome exhibitors who wish to showcase products and firearms that serve the traditional needs of the sport. Clearly, we strongly support the 2nd Amendment. However, this year we have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.

It looks like the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) needs to find another organization to put on their SHOT Show next year. The NSSF does not need to be associating with such fair weather promoters. If Reed Exhibitions, aka Eastern Sports will hypocritically turn their backs on the Second Amendment because certain type of firearms aren't currently politically correct then it's clear they're only in it for the profit and not to support shooting sports.

BTW: I'm pleased to know my support of Cabelas wasn't misplaced. They will continue to receive my business and highest recommendations.

Isn't it interesting that Reed Exhibitions waited until AFTER SHOT Show (certainly their biggest cash cow of the year) to make this announcement?

If they're willing to bow to pressure for this, where do they draw the line? This sort of behavior satisfies the anti's "divide & conquer" strategy.

I've visited Reed Exhibitions website. They aren't solely a firearms/outdoor sports organization; they are a big business venue promoter. In my opinion, this does not excuse them from this sort of firearm bigotry. They receive a tremendous amount of their income by promoting firearms related events. In this current anti-firearm climate we need organizations who will stand behind the Second Amendment 100%. There is no room for divided loyalties anymore.

They want to help prove to the uninformed public the anti-gun crowd's statement that hunters don't use AR type rifles by not having any in their event.
My T.P. wheeling and dealing feedback is here.

Sounds like a BS tactic to shut people up. they will wait a few months before the next show and things will be back to normal. You will see ARs at Dicks and other stores again as long as there aren't any new laws that ban them put into effect.

I can only imagine the number of dealers/manufacturers etc etc that would say F U to this BS. Larue, Rock River, Noveske, Spikes, Delton, stag, etc etc all are basically completely AR companies. some may still bring other products, but I doubt it.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I saw this story posted on Facebook by a bullet company I like (Cutting Edge Bullets) last week, saying they will no longer have a booth at the show because they don't want to support people who don't support our rights.

Certainly looks like we are going that way. Too many who own shotguns and hunting rifles willing to give the rest of us up so they can be left alone.

Dumb bastards think they'll be left alone...like the leftists will be content with the AR/AK crowd being disarmed.
