Yep, simplify the requirements to the individual needing a valid permit and remove the ability for the districts to decide who can carry or not.

Agreed. It would require repeal of the Federal Gun-free School Zones Act. Ron Paul introduced a bill which would do just that in 2011, H.R. 2613: Citizens Protection Act; it died in committee.
