Just another one of the you know who. On the other hand i'll take that source with a grain of salt. I dont think those sheriffs are refusing to enforce gun laws. They are refusing to enforce unlawful unconstitutional orders.

How quickly you forget he allowed the former child molester / KNOWN drug user, Pat Sullivan to do 7 days in CTY jail. 7 fuken days. That's how "tough & strict" Robinson is. maybe all you arapaho cty ccw permit owners should start dealing meth. win / win.

Just out of curiosity, didn't we as a state, just thumb our noses to federal drug laws?

I'll trade you two of my Robinsons for one of your Maketas.
I posted the entire letter from Robinson, including his quotes from the article, in a different thread yesterday. While I agree it is the responsibility of the Judicial branch to determine the constitutionality of laws, one does not have to be a Supreme Court Justice, Constitutional Scholar, or the Great and Powerful Oz to know the difference between constitutional and unconstitutional. The Judicial branch upheld the NFA (on more than one occasion) as constitutional by default, in absence of argument to the contrary. The Judicial branch upheld the Patriot Act as Constitutional despite its blatant infringement of the Fourth Amendment. To even have the Judicial branch consider constitutionality of a law requires legal challenge through lengthy process, significant sums of money, and inevitable political clout. The Judicial branch (e.g. the Supreme Court) has proven its ineptitude in deciding matters of constitutionality on more than one occasion, at no one's expense except that of the American people and their liberty. I do not need to wait for someone to challenge the constitutionality of a law, nor follow the requisite process, nor cross my fingers and pray for bipartisanship of a majority of partisan Justices to tell me whether or not a legislative restriction violates the phrase, "shall not be infringed" to know if it is unconstitutional, by virtue of the fact I am literate. Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
Not one more inch.

What obligation is there of local officials to enforce federal laws?

"Birds of a feather . . ."
I've seen that shit before with politicians and judges . . . the guys who claim to be "tough on crime" always give their buddies a free pass, dismissing valid felony charges while throwing the book at everyone else . . . then a few years later you hear about their own drug problems.
