    Armed men reported near campus:

    http://kdvr.com/2013/01/25/broomfiel...n-near-campus/

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Legacy High School was put on lockout Friday morning after the school received a report that two individuals were heading towards the campus with weapons.

The report went out over the Broomfield Police scanner at approximately 11:30 a.m. Adams County spokesperson Jo Ferdani confirmed the scanner traffic, saying a caller informed police she saw two individuals carrying weapons and headed towards to school.

Police had not confirmed the report about the armed students as of noon, but they did say officers were en route to the school, which is located at the intersection of West 136th Avenue and North Zuni Street.

There seems to be an awful lot of school "incidents" going on lately.

    high tension leads to overreaction.
for all we know it was someone seeing a rifle in the back seat of a car driving in the general direction of the school.

but better safe than sorry after all....

I agree in some aspect of that but my concern is there is so much fear out there now, that every time a gun is seen, it'll be "CALL THE COPS!". I'm sure that is exactly what the administration is wanting though. Until all the details (how close were they spotted to the school, what "weapons" were seen, etc), I won't comment more about it. I would like to see citizens being more aware of things going on around them so it's good in that sense. I just hope it doesn't snowball into panic/overreaction 24/7.

Gun free Zone is a shooting gallery waiting to happen.
HOWEVER Those who oppose firearm use for safety will tell you a school is better off with out ARMED SECURITY. Perhaps we need to rethink the seat belt laws.

FattyHunter lives practically right next door to that school. Hope he didn't go for a walk today. I live a few blocks south.

What does he think? Any word in the halls about it being a prank call to avoid a test or some crap like that?
