Default What you guys think of this rifle

Been debaiting to either build a Longrange .223 rifle, or go buy one. I ran into this one today.

No dought about it, its ugly, but seems to be a good performer. I was also thinking even a bolt action like a Tactical Scout from Styr.(sp?) or just go ahead and build one. Still debating not gonna be something I'll buy anytime soon buy maybe several months down the line.

As far as factory build goes DPMS inc does ok, but they are still just an assembler or parts. You could do the same for far less money.

If you want a true long range gun the upper should be put on a lathe and squared up before installing the barrel to properly align the barrel and reciever. This is one of many thing that custom gun makers will do to ensure an accurate rifle.

If I wanted another long range shooter I would contact Mike Milli again at DTech super store and have him build me a 243WSSM. It puts the Grendel and SPC to shame. As always you could always have him build a super accurate 223 also. Mike also guarantees accuracy.

You can pester him with questions too....he is good people.

I would avoid a DPMS, Colt, Bushie, ect for a long range tack-driver. Buy a cheap AR and replace the barrel with a Krieger, Lilja, Hart or something like that. The accuracy comes from the barrel, chamber, trigger and the nut behind the scope.

If you dont mind reloading, I know of a very low mileage 22BR that Lizard just built for a board member.

    A 22BR is essentially a 22-250 that uses 7-10 gns less powder.

Yup. Awesome little round. Lizard built me one about 5-6 years ago. One of my favorite rifles.

Lizard recently built me a 22BR as well.

    It's a really neat caliber.

Tom Is talking about My 22br. I moved from Colorado and no longer have anything to shoot at remotely fun so this rifle has yet to even be broke in.
Tom or Lizard both have the details of my rifle.
