Default New Star wars movie directed by JJ Abrams!

JJ Abrams to direct the next Star Wars movie

Could be good or really bad.....

Things we can expect based on his previous work:

    • Palpatine does not really die on Death Star 2, but enter a singularity and go back in time to kill Luke Skywalker on Tatoine before he meet Obiwan
    • Obiwan is an old drunk leaving in the wreck of a boat called the Black Rock in the middle of the desert. No explanation will be given as to what the boat is doing there but it makes for cool visuals....
    • Obiwan find the secret love child he had from Padme, before she married Anakin and train him as a jedi. His son is named Obitwo.
    • Obitwo goes on to train with Yoda, but he is always chased by a smoke monster....

    Shoulda got Joss Whedon instead.

    Agreed!
However, problem with that article (or maybe my reading comprehension)... Does this make any sense?
"multiple sources are confirming Star Trek director — and lifelong Star Wars fan — J.J. Abrams will in fact be directing Star Wars: Episode VII."
    Then: "
as Abrams recently went on record saying he was asked to direct the film but respectfully declined so that he could concentrate on the Star Trek film series he rebooted."
    "
Although “it’s a done deal with J.J.,” a source tells Deadline" and "Deadline reports Abrams’ relationship with Lucas’ successor at Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, helped seal the deal."
Seems to be contradicting statements there...

"There is no news in the truth, and no truth in the news."
"The revolution will not be televised... Instead it will be filmed from multiple angles via cell phone cameras, promptly uploaded to YouTube, Tweeted about, and then shared on Facebook, pending a Wi-Fi connection."

I thought the new Star Trek movie kicked ass. The last three additions to the Star Wars movies sucked bad enough that I probably won't see a new installment without first hearing overwhelming attestation that it doesn't suck.

    +1 for Joss Whedon though.

So I wonder what crazy tie-ins Abrams could do with is other works?

    • Milo Rambaldi was actually a Jedi that got lost and crash landed on Earth a long time ago?
    • The Smoke Monster is actually The Force?
    • Henry Turner is actually a descendent of Han Solo somehow?
    • Felicity Porter finds a Wookie and gives her a make over and she becomes First Lady of the United States?
    • Agent Olivia Dunham finds a light saber in her grandfathers old lake house?

    The mind boggles!

I wasn't as enthralled with Abrams' reboot of Star Trek but either Abrams or Whedon would have to be a better choice for writing the stories than Lucas.

Who cares? There were only 3 Star Wars movies followed by a desperate grab for money.

    Leave it alone already.
