    Default Playing with fire

So, I can't find reliable data for what I want to load so I am going to make it up on my own.

    Hope I don't kill myself.

I'm trying to load some 150gr bullets for my .300 Blackout. Maybe some 168gr as well. I have data for lighter and heavier bullets so I am making a little graph with those weights and charges and going to fill in the blanks. Hopefully the pressure curve is pretty linear. Looks like I will probably try 16.0gr of 296 with the 150gr bullets and maybe 14.0gr with the 168gr bullets.

    Wish me luck.

Good Luck!!!...when /if you survive, please share the data. Also, have you checked the 300blktalk forum Handloading section?

A little bit. But you can't always believe everything you read on the Internet. I think I'm pretty close to what those guys were saying worked for them.

    We'll see.

I've been loading 12.5 grains of VIT N-110 with a 200 gr Sierra Matchking. Talk about a Zinger.

Did you chrono it? I didn't but it shot through a 15" log at 40 feet and ricocheted somewhere at a high rate of speed.

Looks like somebody else had the same thought.
    http://www.beyond556.com/bboard/show...ammo-situation
"im getting good results with 150 grain seirra flat base game kings loaded over 16.50 grains of 296 and a winchester small rifle primer and an OAL of 2.050"

That data looks a little hot. (pressure spike) If you are trying to get a high velocity (relative) cartridge with 150-168's you might get away from pistol/shotgun style powders and look into something a little slower burning like 2015, 4198, 335 and powders used in the original "Fireball" size cartridge. That is the way they got best velocity with cartridges like the 7mmTCU and heavy bullets for silhouette shooting without going sub-sonic.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Pretty sure my 150gr load is for H-110 or maybe Tac, I will dig it up and see.
