North Dakota in the summers. Montana in the winters. or if you stick around here Vail in the winter and just Colorado in the summers. Marrying well or just being privileged has it's upsides....

I just realized I didn't provide any reasons in my post.
North Dakota summer = In basmarsck not cold, they have a river, everyone is friendly. They also have the best diamond cutters in the world. So it's basically a really rich Boulder with more polite people who aren't fucking hippies and know how to have a good time and spend their money. No one drives a subaru.
Metropolitan Montana is pretty fucking shitty. Montana? Is nice. Not a lot of people. It's Montana though...

its crazy to hear Georgians refer to Colorado as a Blue state...
Commie-rado...
damned shame really...
Ok, now that's not good... if we have a rep in GA about being blue you know we've fallen too far. And here I thought it was bad enough my TX friends were giving me hell about choosing to live in a blue state!
It's too bad I'm in process to get on the Sheriff's Dept, otherwise I'd been contemplating moving to MT, WY, or ID... Some real nice, inexpensive property in Bozeman.

Im going back to wa in a few years.
If you get to pick your place consider the lewiston - clarckston area. Lots of water terrain and or has no sales tax so going across the river for big grocery runs cuts costs that much more
+1 on that worthless state. I remember the illegals taking over Aurora, IL back in the mid 80's. Little did I believe back then that it could go nation wide. I grew up in Nebraska and took a job out of college in Naperville working for Bell Labs. I loved the job, hated the place. Left and moved here in 86 in the middle of the big oil bust. The state was actually shrinking then. Prices were low and we were able to afford owning a house. I just loved Colorado back then and was so happy to start a family here. Today, I live in a small island of conservatives in western Arvada but it's changing too. Jeffco used to be solidly red but no more. Colorado is being Californicated. I'm in the same boat as KestrelBike, my wife of 34 years isn't a gun nut and is not exactly happy about moving out of state when my son goes off to college. If we leave, he'll be stuck with out-of-state tuition. We should just declare him an illegal alien. Sigh.
