    I'm just curious- and I'm not in disagreement with the OP, but isn't this something Bush started? If a Republican was doing the same thing, would most on here feel the same way? Granted, I don't think Obeyme should have sole authority for this, there needs to be incontrovertible evidence that the person being targeted is in fact a terrorist, and there needs to be checks and balances- like the two man rule with SSBNs.

    It's not restricted to Al-Qaida. It's terrorists.

    bush started bombing folks suspected of terrorism.
    O was the first to use that process on Americans. Bush just threw em in solitary.
    (thats how I recall it)

    Dont worry it is just happening to the bad people, you know the terrorists... those crazy militias... those protesters..

    This is a very dangerous slippery slope. People better wake up and be damn concerned about this.

    The John Warner Defense Appropriation Act (H.R. 5122) is pretty scary too. At least H.R. 5122 was brought to a vote before Congress and not by Executive fiat in the form of a memo. We've been on a slippery slope for a long time unfortunately. It's gotten to the point that Berry doesn't even pretend to work within the system.
