Yup, and ran her first Mile Ever in her life at 40...trained for 10 years and ran the Denver Marathon two years running.

Her only goal was to finish...and she came in the middle of the time indexes.

We ran it together her second time

I had modified a pair of ACU's (US ARMY tapes were removed) to have GO MOM! on the back and ran it side by side with her Trying to beat her own personal best from the year prior.

That's just damned awesome - She should surely be proud of herself!

Well I think that may be next "blast" - It kind of reminds me of the "desert version" of what I used to do in the winter in New England when I ran my trap line as a kid....but DIFFERENT!

I always shake my head when I see hardcore super-prepper survive-anything types that have absolutely no physical training whatsoever. Physical fitness/capability/work capacity is kind of important. Yes I crossfit, yes I do military athlete. I have no real gripes with either. I've heard the "crossfit teachers poor form", "prone to injury" from plenty of people. I have no idea what CF gym they went to or who they were coached by. I get great coaching from very experienced coaches Yes, I am stronger faster and have more endurance than ever before. If you're in Colorado Springs check out the military athlete. He has lots of training programs.

OP have fun at Spartan I've been wanting to do it. I'll be doing GORUCK in march and possibly preparing for Ranger School as well. I might be able to get some buddies together to do this as well. I've heard it's hands down the toughest race out there.

I've seen the GORUCK stuff too. Might try my hand at one later on too. Trying to keep from getting old, LOL!

Looks fun! Thought about signing up last time they did it here. I am on my 3rd round of p90x and run a couple miles a day with the dog, but still not sure I would do very well.

I think I may have to have a try at a GORUCK next year! From the looks of it that's more of a team oriented event though so I would certainly need to have buddies join in.

If I read the website correctly, the "team" is formed from those that register for that GORUCK adventure, and I believe everyone is part of the same team so you don't need a team to enter.
