    Default Howdy from Golden

Hey guys. I just wanted to say hey and introduce myself. I've been looking forward to shooting an IDPA match for a while now, and I'm glad I found you all. It's cool to have some locals to talk to.

    Jake.

Have you taken the mandatory safety class yet?

Well, I just took the CCW class. does that count? Otherwise, no.

I'm not "positive" but I don't think that class counts.
Someone should be along shortly that knows for sure.

Anyway, it's no big deal. They give the safety class before almost every match. You just have to show up an hour early. You take the class, then if you make it through the match without shooting anyone else, or yourself, they sign your card and give it to ya.

At least, that is what we did last year, when my son wanted to start shooting IDPA up at Clear Creek County Sportsman's Club. They have a match every 2nd Saturday of the month up there.

There are other places that host IDPA matches.
