Sorry I couldn't make it. Always helps to have a little 'color' in the progun crowd...

That and I am sure Cora would have been fine tagging along, so we could chant THINK OF THE CHILDREN too.

So...what does it mean? Provided I never leave Jeffco, I can go search in the lake for my lost magazines and ARs.

"Commissioner Casey Tighe, a Democrat who beat John Odom, Republican, in November's election, voted against the measure and introduced an "alternative" resolution he said allowed for future discussions about current and possibly future gun laws."

The whole thing was kind of a CF...
The original Resolution, (9A) was what was to be voted upon after input from commenters.

Tighe proposed his own 9B Resolution at the eleventh-hour. Which was a watered-down version and left most everything open-ended for change.

No one had seen 9B before they walked into the room. I don't think it should even have been considered as it was untimely and not properly submitted.

In the spirit of transparency Chairman Rosier allowed it to be entered. Tighe explained his reasons for the alternative and differences from the original 9A.
In the ensuing discussion and in a conciliatory effort Faye Griffin was considering ways to incorporate a meld of the two. That's when I left.

Another of Tighe's concerns was an attempt to use this as a vehicle to increase spending on mental health. Earlier he was wanting the mental health spending cuts to be reinstated and thought this was a way to do it.

(Too bad he didn't also propose spending for 'clairvoyance' to make absolute, no-fail use of it)
I have nothing against mental health spending, but to presume that it would have prevented all the shootings is naive.

OUTSTANDING! We needed some good news. Now...let's keep up the pressure on the state officials. I'm more concerned that they'll do something stupid than the feds at this point. Not that we should underestimate the stupidity of the feds....
