    Default FNG from Parker

    Hello all,

    Been lurking for quite some time, decided to take the plunge. Lots of great information here - amazing!

    I am looking at aquiring another AR-15, mainly for plinking, prarie dogs, some target shooting, hoping oneday to get into the CMP High Power. I had a pre-ban HBAR Colt that disappeared with my first wife - (high price to pay but it was worth it to be rid of her.) Loved the rifle and put thousands of rounds thru it. I was at Gander Mountain a couple of months ago and picked up a Bushmaster AR and I haven't been able to get the Evil Black Rifles off my mind.

    I am torn on what to buy or possibly build ( I put together a M1 Garand from a stripped down barreled action, so I think I could tackle a build ). Bought a case of 5.56 the other day from a buddy, as an incentive to finally get another AR. I love the look of the M4 style, but think in the the end I might be happier with an A2 style 20in like my old HBAR, possibly with National Match sights.

    I am curious what the REAL difference is in accuracy at say 200,300,400 yds between the 16 and 20 in barrels. I am a life long varmit hunter, so I regularly shoot at extended distances, usually with precision peep sights, and I want my new AR to be able to reach out an touch someone.

    Anyway, happy to be here and will be looking for lots of advice as I start down this road again.

    AR's are easy to build, If You have all the parts tools and a working Knowlege of it.
