vacuum sealer help

Been thinking about buying a vacuum sealer. Looking for recommendations. Are there must have features one should not be without?

This is what I have used, just make sure you get good quality bags. I have only used up to 1 gallon bags, so I am not sure how it would handle a 5 gallon.

The bags it comes with are OK! I like the box of sealer bags from Costco better. Machine works great with no issues. I have had it for two years.

I have the base model food saver and it works perfect for me last night I packaged 6 lbs of bacon and 10 lbs of breakfast sausage. Buy the rolls so that you can customize bags to your product size.

Food Saver, I've had mine for maybe eight years going strong. My Dad has had his for close to thirty and used heavily every hunting and fishing season.

Costco puts their Foodsavers on sale at a fairly deep discount every other month or so. Same for the bags. I have the Foodsaver from Costco and use it all the time. No problems.

Foodsaver. Make sure you get the model with an attachment hose. I have the wide mouth jar sealer, marinating container and a couple of the leftover containers (their leftover containers tend to crack, so I can't recommend them). The jar sealer works good for sealing dried veggies, freeze-dried foods and stuff in quart and half-gallon mason jars. The marinating container is awesome for marinating jerky or throwing some ribs and Korean BBQ sauce in 30 minutes before firing up the grill.
