Default Criminal and Civil Charges ??

Does anyone know if Colorado has a law that states that if you are aquitted of criminal charges in a self defense scenario, that you cannot be charged in civil court ? I know that the "make my day" law does, but that applies to in your home scenarios. What about outside the home, other than in your vehicle. I have been told various answers from various people inclusing Leo's ,DA's etc. , but I can't get a for sure answer. My next step is to try and contact an attorney who "should" know, but I just thought I'd put the question out here for anyone who might know for sure. thanks.

No, an acquittal by itself does not make one immune to civil charges from a self-defense situation ie., tort or wrongful death.

you will still end up in civil court. just like OJ.
one of the bits of information i have learned in numerous courses, and i pass onto hopeful CCW students is.
no matter what happens with the DA's decision to aquit, or charge, someone in a self defense scenario, be prepared to face a massive civil suite. approx cost w/out any judgement against you to be around $30K.. based on average attorney fee's, expert witness's on your behalf, suponeas of the DA and LE's who investigated the case etc.

I like the odds better in court than for me rising from the dead.
