I just read the joint news release from Colorado House and Senate Democrats. The following information is from their very own release.

The propose:

-to fine citizens $5,000 and jail them for 18 months for selling a gun without the state's permission.

-to fine citizens $1,000 and jail for 1 year for possessing, selling or trading any magazine capable of holding 10 or more rounds of ammunition. (the only possible way to avoid being jailed under this proposal would be to register current ownership of these magazines with the state.)

Decide for yourself if you think these proposals are radical.

This bill will ban the sale, transfer, and ownership of all new ammunition feeding devices (magazines, strips, and drums) capable of accepting more than 10 rounds, after the enactment date of the bill. Additionally, it will prohibit the sale or transfer of large-capacity ammunition feeding devices lawfully possessed on the date of enactment of the bill.

I should know better than to believe a facebook post.

As it stands a state magazine ban is unenforceable, all you do is have your friend from Texas ship you a gaggle of pmags and if they ask, you owned them before the ban. Its ridiculous and ineffectual.

So much of this is just plain stupid and will make literally no difference the next time some deranged bad guy comes bursting through the door wanting to kill people. Constitutional carry would go a lot further to make our streets safer from both normal crime and spree shooters.

Here's someone who's data and methodology I am smelling at a little...off.

A national survey by pollster Doug Schoen found that 72% of voters support banning high capacity ammunition magazines, or gun clips that hold more than 10 bullets at a time. The survey also found that 59% of gun owners and 47% of NRA members agree with this ban.
