    Default eye protection?

Good info in the "hearing protection" thread so I though I'd ask the same question for eyes.

I had Lasik surgery a couple weeks ago and now I'm looking for some eye protection. I've worn glasses most of my life, so I never had a need for shooting glasses before now. What do you guys recommend?

I wear Oakley Radars with smoke and clear lenses. Considering buying the yellow lenses.

Smith Optics has a range of "ballistic" eyewear. I've never had anything hit it at velocity but the stuff seems pretty decent so far (I've only been using their line of shooting stuff for a year or so) - https://elite.smithoptics.com/

I don't have any strong preferences as long as it's comfy. And everyone's face is different, so it's definitely subjective.

The only thing I would suggest is try to find some where the sides fit very close to your face. I had the lovely experience of getting a hot casing stuck between the arm and my temple. It was all I could do to calmly put my gun down before frantically trying to paw it out...

Now I always wear a hat as part of my safety gear.

This sounds like being on a Marine Corps firing range, where the guy next to you is three feet away, doing rapid fire and launching hot brass down your collar while you're trying to focus on hitting the black and not shoot his target during qual day. Point taken. Thanks!

Wiley X makes a very large veriety of safety frames and lenses. The various models are all for different head shape and size. Go into europtics and buy whatever fits best. I don't like the dedicated strap in some models, but I do like the option of clip in headband that some of their models offer. Keeps them on your head and off the ground. ~$50 for ANSI rated frames and lenses
