These bills all disgust me. Being a college student (I've gone on and off for the last 6 years), I personally feel safer knowing that citizens have the legal ability to carry concealed on campus. In fact, as soon as I get the money, I'm going to file the paperwork for my CCW to hopefully be able to CCW on campus. When will politicians realize that making a place a "gun free zone" does nothing to improve the safety?

If passed, then will college campuses will be getting metal detectors and security, or face losing state funding?. CRS 18-12-214 (4)
And face civil cases when another mass murder occurs because they took away students ability to defend themselves.

That's what I would do if injured in a shooting- I'd go after the school for every penny they have, get them shut down, because they denied me the RIGHT to defend myself. Stupid.

For what it is worth, not much these days, I sent the following to all the state and federal links for my zip on the NRA-ILA contact your reps page. I had to fax the one to Hickenlooper. The only actual response I got was from our friend Representative Holbert. (I got a cut and paste from Udall)

I don't expect answers to the following but I want you thinking about
these numbers. What is the total number of bullets covering the average
person under secret service security? How many rounds per man times the
average detail size? Locally how many rounds on a politician's police
    detail?

I do want an answer for this.
Look at those numbers and tell me why my daughter and wife deserve fewer
rounds for self defense. They don't have backup with an earpiece. This is
why I want you to oppose all magazine capacity legislation.
    Sincerely,

How are they going to prove that I purchased a 'high-capacity' magazine after the effective date (July 1, 2013) and am in violation of the below rule?

    17 (2) (a) A PERSON MAY POSSESS A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE IF
    18 HE OR SHE:
19 (I) OWNS THE LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE ON THE EFFECTIVE
20 DATE OF THIS SECTION; AND
21 (II) MAINTAINS CONTINUOUS POSSESSION OF THE LARGE-CAPACITY
    22 MAGAZINE.
23 (b) IF A PERSON WHO IS ALLEGED TO HAVE VIOLATED SUBSECTION
24 (1) OF THIS SECTION ASSERTS THAT HE OR SHE IS PERMITTED TO LEGALLY
25 POSSESS A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH (a) OF
26 THIS SUBSECTION (2), THE PROSECUTION HAS THE BURDEN OF PROOF TO
    27 REFUTE THE ASSERTION
    .

I've written my fair share of emails advising that I'm a responsible gun owner and I don't approve of their measures. They already know where to find me.

I was actually reading/responding to this via the phone so for my own education, because as I read it, there is a grandfather clause for pre-ban mags w/ more than 10 rounds. Correct?

Hold a party, everyone bring their mags, lay them all out and every take their own picture. Get some of every color in there. "See my photo? I've owned all these for years".
