im against that too. using a helo in the active pursuit of a violent offender only. no surviellance, no watching our every move. and now recording everything.no traffic enforcement.
no thanks. what we need is more privacy, not more government watching us.

Ya, some of these are nothing more than over-glorified model airplanes with small cameras on them. There are a lot of potential uses for these UAVs that have nothing to do with LE activities, and in a lot of cases are there for training military troops to do aerial surveillance in front of troop movements. These UAV's are not weapons capable. All four of these fall into this category. The SOCOM one is the largest of the four and still not weapons platform deployable.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Anyone that thinks war is good is ignorant. Anyone that thinks war isn't needed is stupid.

Advancements in drones as weapons platforms is good for the person using them and bad for others............................ (Disclaimer: this video is probably a repost but relevant to this thread.)

Am I correct in assuming that map is of civilian/LEO drones and not military? Because if not, its wrong.

I live near Holloman AFB and see the drones operating over the highway all the time. Both MQ-1s and MQ-9s, they frequently travel directly overhead the highway running from Holloman to Las Cruces. As far as I know, they do quite a bit of drone pilot training at Holloman.
