The DMV employees have to follow the law just like the rest of us .. Disabled Vet or not.

I don't think it's so much the fact that he can't get one, it's the fact that it's easier for an illegal immigrant or a person on temporary work status to get one than a guy who is obviously an Amerikan.

Exactly. The state/fed is obviously jumping through hoops to provide the proper forms for some illegals to facilitate getting a license. But for this guy it seems it's just too fuckin' bad he doesn't have a BC. Good thing Obama didn't try to get a TX DL.

If he goes to his hometown Clerk and Recorder's office, they may be able to help him. Or he could check with the hospital he was born at (if it's still around) and see if they have a copy of his birth certificate.

When I moved here to CO, I got in line for my drivers license. When the woman took one look at my original New Jersey birth certificate, she laughed and said that's worthless. I needed the new version from NJ.


I called NJ. The said sure, they'll mail me a new copy, just send them a fax with my drivers license, and they'll Fedex one to the addr on the drivers license. That sucked, since the address on my old license was 1700 miles away, but no exceptions (or intelligence) of course.

I had to fly to NJ, get in line at 9am in Trenton, the only place in the entire damn state you can get your birth certificate, stand in line until 5pm when I was the very last person able to get processed for a copy that day, which was good since I kind of had to fly home the next morning. I got 5 copies so I'd never have to step foot in that shithole again for the rest of my life.
