So far the magic combo I have found is the Dillon C powder funnel (made for the 30 Carbine) and the Lee collet crimp die.

Those two together make it so the coating does not get scraped or cut at any point.

I am just using the AK funnel, which doesn?t open up the neck. So I run a lee universal neck expanding die after the powder drop and then seater, with the crimp die as the last station. I am using a 650, which has the extra station to do it this way.

My supersonic go to is the Speer TNT and don?t have to open up the neck or crimp. So I looked and getting the expander was cheaper if I recall correctly than getting the drop tube you mention. And then maybe if I start shooting lead in other non-pistol cartridges I would have something for them.

Your way is more direct for those who lack the empty station so the way to go for most.

I managed to follow through with some "load development" I inadvertently got into last week when I realized I had made a mistake loading some shotshells. It came down to either completely tearing 50 shells down and recharging them with a reduced powder charge or opening them up and reducing the shot load. I went from a one ounce load to 7/8 ounce. In addition to correcting the mistake, I loaded 25 shells sort of as a control group. As reducing the shot load is a viable way to increase component economy, I was interested.
Anyway... Today I figured out that I need to work on accuracy before I can take advantage of smaller loads and tighter chokes.

It was kind of fun shooting powder puff loads though.

    Nice!

I need to get my 650 set up for .357 Magnum. Today I worked through 150 .357 Sig rounds.

Recently completed my 9mm 700x, 115gr berrys and win small rifle primer load development. I casually loaded 200 rounds for an extended test before going hog wild
