My hand hit the big black primmer tube that bolts to the frame; I fell with a lot of force...shit went everywhere. It was stupid! The guy I talked to at Dillon was really nice about it. Fortunately, I didn't have a powder measure on the press at the time because I had it set for trickle charge loads.

Breaking metal with a body part would indicate a flaw to me, unless the part you hit was able to apply leverage to another part... Just saying, and I'm not entirely familiar with the setup.

Regardless, super nice of Dillon take care of it.

The heavy metal tube that bolts at the frame is about 14 or so inches long. I hit the top of that tube falling forward which was sideways on the press and there was nothing to stop it from snapping off. I do agree though; the cast aluminium is pretty weak there. However, what happened should have never happened...it was totally my fault.

So that hole in the broken part is where the tube/primar assembly inserts? Makes perfect sense in that case.

Yep, there are actually two holes, but you can't make out the other one because it is on the break.

I had a 50 cal ammo can full of 3-4 times fired Lapua 243 brass that I had forgotten about.

So I went through it all, wet tumbled it all and started annealing it with my AMP annealer.

Going to start throwing powder this weekend.

Tossed some 9MM in a container. Looked at the temperature and left.
