I ruined more pieces of brass this weekend than I have over the entire time I've been reloading.

I started lubing pistol brass after encountering a few difficult cases. it was easier to lube than spend time removing the case. For pistol brass it's the only time i would suggest 1 shot. I never use or suggest 1 shot for rifle, but pistol a very light spray makes a difference.

Well, I would care about the consistency, but it's only 9mm and I'll probably only use it in matches I don't care about, so it doesn't really matter.

Another complaint, is that it seems like the powder throw die doesn't always flare the case mouth consistently. It feels like maybe 20% of the cases don't get flared at all. you can see where there are piles of moly coating on the press.

I do have a question though. Stupid Winchester has started producing brass (all the way in 2013) in 9mm that has crimped primers. Other brands have crimps but I can still seat primers okay on those ones. I have an RCBS case prep center. Should I just purchase this? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/14...cket-uniformer
I read through the forum and see that people prefer a swager instead. Is this the type of tool that is too easy to remove too much material? I'm about to dive into reloading for rifle, so I'm going to need to use a tool one way or another.

Try a dryer sheet in your powder drop. You might also check the humidity in your loading area, too dry and you'll get that issue. For the crimp issue i stopped using CCI going back to winchester primers. It could be a primer and not crimp problem, maybe

Or it could be you're using a crappy press
