interesting, how that escalated in to a use of force case. I would have thought that the officer being an officer (marine not withstanding) would have had more tact in the situation. bringing personal feelings into a situation such as that did not seem to be the correct course of action. I cant say how it should have been handled diffrently because I was not there. just because its on video doesnt reflect very well on body language. the vote could go either way on that one or both ways at the same time. just hard to say.

That's fucking bullshit, this guy and his partner should be at least fired for this. For all you cops that don't act like this then thank you, but all the ones I have ever dealt with were like this. Fuck them and their above the law attitude.

Well, the guy was probably a real douchebag... I mean, his roommates beat him up and kicked him out... Sounds like some homegrown old-fashioned justice to me, but I don't know the whole story.

The cop assaulted him. No doubt about it. The guy was alone in the middle of the parking lot and did not physically or verbally threaten the cop... and then the cop stepped forward and smashed his face in. That is assault. He should be fires, tried, and convicted for assault, battery, or both. There is no reason that he should think he is above the law and not subject to the same laws as everyone else.

    a) Unnecessary show of force
    b) I want to hear what the people who allegedly beat him up had to say

IMHO, HS principal should be legally able to do that to those crazy HS students.

That was unnecessary on the cops end.

As someone who has spent their entire life studying animals, this looks a lot like two dogs figuring out who is alpha. The only difference being that the one guy couldn't do anything to prove his worth or he'd be put away. Not saying he wasn't being a douche but I think the show by the cop was unnecessary.

"We are a professional hard working agency" Quote...means you can just smack somebody who has already been assaulted criminally?
