That was unnecessary on the cops end.

As someone who has spent their entire life studying animals, this looks a lot like two dogs figuring out who is alpha. The only difference being that the one guy couldn't do anything to prove his worth or he'd be put away. Not saying he wasn't being a douche but I think the show by the cop was unnecessary.

"We are a professional hard working agency" Quote...means you can just smack somebody who has already been assaulted criminally?

I am not defending the actions of that officer. However, I do know the area and Vallejo is one of the roughest area in the Bay Area. It is on a par with Oakland. Officers are assaulted and shot on a regular basis. There is a huge crack problem there, so an agitated subject approaches in a threatening manner it is within department guidelines to restrain the subject physically. There are no areas in Colorado that are anywhere near to Oakland, Vallejo, Pittsburgh, or Richmond. Those are all right in the same general area. I have some old buddies that are officers in those areas, and talk rarely works with the types they encounter on a daily basis. FYI I grew up about 35 or 40 miles from there, and commuted through those neighborhoods daily for years.

Did the cop go from zero to whoop ass pretty quick? Yes. Was he in the wrong? Maybe. But a lot of officers have been injured or killed for not reacting fast enough. Just my .02

    From the cop's report:

Blake was very agitated and started using profanity toward me. Blakebecame combative by clinching his fist and taking a combative posture while telling me that heis a "U.S. Soldier know who you are talking too".

That seems a little exaggerated in my personal opinion. I think the cop WAY over-reacted. I think he knew it too.

As to the op, in this particular case, just an asshole with a gun and a badge.

Everyone today can just assume everything they do is on video tape.

Who here hasn't earned a beat down after running their mouth in front of the wrong person. Lucky for some of us that we don't all don't get what we deserve.

well I guess its better than reporting it to your supervisor and IA, being terminated, being railroaded at a BoR and then going on a "Fallen Down II"
