    Yes, Bangor chow hall is rated number one also... atleast when I was there.. I thought there only was Virginia... Was very happy when I left there. I never thought it would end...

    Mare Island still exists? Awesome! I didn't know that. Both of my parents were machinists there during WWII.

    I don't know if it exist today, but it did back in 1992.

    Found this- The base closed in 1996 and has gone through several redevelopment phases. It was registered as a California Historical Landmark in 1960,[2] and parts of it were declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1975.[3]

    No.. I knew it existed but did not know SF training took place there... although now that I am typing this I seem to remember now... long time..

    P.S. I've met about 90%-95% of guys who's been here for at least a year or longer + a whole bunch of "new" guys, all are decent guys.
