This is actually part of our problem -- we not only let the Left label gun owners as fringe but we do it to ourselves. Knowing US civics, history and heritage, respecting the Constitution, being self-sufficient and wanting others to do likewise isn't right-of-center -- it IS (or should be) the damned center. We are/should be the NORM. We need to keep promoting the image that gun owners and shooters are Everyman. We're good likable people and we ARE the American majority.
