Default Rumors all over the place- Clarifications

Hello members lots of disturbing information out there about possible gun control measures. On talk radio there is talk that our legislature is looking at requiring gun owners to turn in their high capacity magazines if a law were to pass. On some of the similar gun sites to ours there are posts that there are plans in works for us to turn in our magazines. I am aware of this house proposal http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/cli...le=1224_01.pdf , and I do see a grandfather clause that we can keep our high capacity mags if already own them IF this garbage passes. Is there something out there that I am missing that does away with a pre ban ownership? This is stuff is garbage either way you look at it but to make someone turn in their property (magazines)makes me plain mad with disgust to see where this State is going not just on the 2nd but with everything that is going on. Quite frankly if this passes I need the grandfather clause to buy me enough time to move my family from this oppressive state or lobby like heck to get some repersentatives in office that will be more in align with my views. As I have mentioned in past posts I am 5th generation resident, come from a affluent family in law enforcement and safety, farming and ranching, have a good name in my career field etc. and this is quite shocking for many of my family members in the direction this state is going. I just dont believe that the majority of our current state residents have gone so far left. I hear people say that these measures will be the downfall for the party in power, I can hope but 2 years to see what happens is a long time. I am making calls and when I have spoke to legislatures in my work I am spoken my point of view in a constructive way. Personally I feel the issue is MENTAL ILLNESS and enforcing the laws on the books and not these garbage gun grabbing ideas. In my view the media is flaming things and it is sad that our own local newspaper the Denver Post is part of the problem. Either way I hope that if these laws pass that a national effort with brough forth to boycott tourism for states like Colorado, NY and California. Just a thought, it worked for the gay marriage proponents why wont it work for the 2nd side? Either way I ranted for the evening have a great night......

I thought about the BOYCOTT Colorado measure because it worked for the left agenda with same sex marriage. As I was tying I saw in my mail delivery a ski pass and the Colorado Division of Wildlife hunting planner all in todays mail. What if this State lost some money from hunters and other sportsman? The boycott would have to be organzied to be heard, however i believe it work. Money is where the heart is for many of the policticans regardless of the polictical side they are on.......

thanks for adding carriage returns jhood

What you are hearing is people stretching the truth a bit as always. You wouldn't have to turn anything in immediately, but when you die they cannot be inherited so your heirs get to turn em in then.

Of course we've all witnessed the fiasco in NY. They get a 10 round limit this year they'll be back again next year with 7, 5, 1.

It is incrementalism. The brady background checks were supposed to solve everything. Now we have a bunch of Progressives who want to completely disarm only the law abiding. There is a reason why they want to disarm the "good people". Nothing new here, just history trying to repeat itself.
