I've got a holster like that for my M&P 9c. It's very very hard to pull the pistol out except in the proper direction for a draw so someone grabbing at it from behind or the side is unlikely to get more than an elbow to the jaw.

When i first moved up here before i got my ccw i would open carry everywhere lots of weird looks but no problems ever.....well one day my wife our baby and i were shopping at platte walmart i was walking through the bean isle when i felt someone super close behind me i thought it was my wife so i turned and saw this little crackhead looking guy with his hand an inch away from my pistol......i stopped dead and pivoted the gun away from him he was so close he bumped into me and as he did that he mumbled "nice gun" and RAN away.....it freaked me out i stopped oc for like a month and have bought a serpa holster for when i do....

One reason I moved to Pueblo West...has it's very own shooting range! I never go there tho'...I'd rather practice in my bug out location...
