Default This is a beautiful idea!

I would like to nominate my friend Tony's son Anthony! Anthony is 10 years old and has inherited his fathers love of firearms. This kid is sharp as a tack! Anthony sees his dad who was a Deputy Sheriff in OK city years ago as a hero, and he wants to be in the Army when he grows up. He has been itching to go out with his dad and myself to go shooting for his first time, and has fallen in love with my AR. Tony was looking for a .22 for Anthony for X-mas, but funds are pretty limited, and with dad just switching jobs and taking a paycut, its not looking like he will be able to get Anthony anything anytime soon.

I know Tony would sign for a rifle for his son, and would feel forever in debt for helping him do what every father should do by giving his son the opertunity to learn basic marksmanship!

I would like to nominate my son Kiyoto. Kiyoto is 9 years old and is a great kid, he truly deserves more than I can provide to him. He's always been great in academics and so-so in sports, except when it came to shooting. Unfortunately, I don't own a rifle or pistol that suits his needs (we always borrowed a friend's .22 pistol or .17 rifle) and since I fell ill last year, he hasn't had the opportunity to go shooting. My friend, understandably doesn't feel comfortable loaning out his gun when he or I won't be there. My wife would take him, but he can't really handle the recoil/weight of an AK or .45ACP. I feel terrible for him since it seems that the one sport it looked like he was really going to be good at ended before he could really start sharpening his skills as a marksman.

On a side note, if Kiyoto is not selected, I may be able to round up a few rounds of mix/matched .22LR for this.

I would nominate my daughter, but she will only go shooting with me if I buy her the "pink rifle". Gander mountain has them for $119.

This is a great idea. Since I own the joint, I say carry on.

I used to be the shooting sports director for the local Boy Scout council. We are always looking for a single shot bolt action rifle, as technically, it is the only type authorized for official BSA shooting.

I'm sure you'll find a good place to adopt it out. If not, then I know exactly where I could help you donate it too.

Thanks for doing this. I would nominate Dozer but, that opposable thumb thing has Him stumped.

I'd nominate my grandson, but he's a little young yet - only 7 months old. Besides I'm already acquiring new firearms just so he'll inherit them someday (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

Great idea, though. Glad to see it.
