I'll nominate my girlfriend's son Tyler. He's 7 years old and has been through a fair amount of shit in his life so far. Right now he's visiting his dad (with his two older sisters) in Texas, but in the past said dad has had alcohol and drug issues, stole meds from his ex-wife (my gf), and generally made life pretty crazy for everyone. He's not involved in Tyler's life at all, and lost his guns to other family members when he got all cracked out a couple years ago. I have a .22 levergun and a MkII that we're planning on taking Tyler out with, plus my gf's little BB gun, at some point this summer, but it would be cool for him to have his own rifle. We (read "me") will be keeping it stored responsibly until he's a bit older, but it's time for him to get out to the range with us and learn to shoot.

I'm only 23 and am not looking to become the father figure at all, but between me and Ty's grandpa (stepgrandpa, really), we're the only responsible male adult figures in his life so we'll do what we gotta do.
