I've no sympathy myself. A religious school has a very specific mission. The teacher publicly stated that he opposed a part of their canon. He wanted to be fired and he accomplished it.

WOW! I attended Purcell as a freshman and sophomore. I have a good friend that teaches there so I'll have to drop him a line and get his take on what happened.
Hey Teufelhund good catch!
"....In our culture we have clichés such as. . .“6 1/2, dozen or the other,”..."
- This has to be a Cincinnati thing. I've heard people misquote that phrase often in "Porkopolis".

This just in.... U.S. Undersecretary of Bloat fired for posting on facebuk page that Romney should have won and that the Obama Administration is comprised of Fabian Socialists.
As spqrzilla said, this Gentleman wanted to be fired.

Holy illiteracy, Batman. This guy was a teacher? It's "Six of one, half a dozen of the other." That shit above doesn't even make sense![/QUOTE]
So if I was to tell you I used a "38, 39, whatever it took" to shoot someone ... what would that mean?![]()

I have to say - I'm with the school on this one. This is America - you are free to express yourself however you see fit, and the people employing you are equally (or should be) free to fire you for it. Private institutions should have complete discretion over who they employ, and whether or not to keep them.
Unless you are self employed and therefore not "fireable", there are times/places when you need to keep your personal opinions to yourself or you just might reap the consequences.
