What a true blessing children can be. I have 2 kids - a 19yo daughter and a 16yo son.
My "fathers day" (sort of) story:
I bought my wife a handgun last Sunday - I was only looking for her to "try on" the feel of something so I'd know what she liked the best and could buy it for her at a later time. I was focusing on the 40S&W's when she asked the SW gun counter guy to show her the 45ACP's (what?). I told her that the 45's have a bit more kick to them and wanted to be sure that's what she was interested in. She was sure. Well, we walked out of there with my wife the proud owner of a two-tone Ruger P345. Once we got home we showed it to the kids and got to know the gun a little better.
A few days later, my daughter babysat for my best friend and his wife when they attended a CCW class. When they came home my daughter told my friend that she can't wait until she is 21; not so she can buy alcohol, but so she can buy guns. My buddy called me up to tell me this and (I swear) a tear came to my eye!
Yup, I'm one proud Dad!
