My understanding of the bill is that you can keep your existing 30 round magazines, and going forward, the "burden of proof" is on the prosecution if you get 30 rounders after the restriction goes into affect. I would think this would force manufacturers to stamp dates on their magazines...

According to testimony yesterday, Magpul has been date stamping their magazines since 2007.

There are obviously more manufacturers than Magpul but they're the foremost manufacturer of AR magazines.

I want them to raise their prices $1+ per mags and use those funds to put each of the yes votes out of a job.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

    My Feedback

I believe nationwide there should be a movement to ban purchasing products from states like Colorado , New York and California. California and New York won't care but Colorado counts on it tourism and farming dollars. imagine that if this State stood to loose just 10 percent of its Revenue each year from a boycott by and others. Infringe on our rights and face the piper. Heck if Colorado saw a drop in its hunting revenue it would have a tremendous impact. The only way the Dems will listen is to take their money away. The same strategy worked for the Gay marriage/civil union supporters and I believe 2nd supporters nation wide could send a wake up call to our legislatiors and Govenor by doing so.

month and year of manufacture, not day
(the little circle with the 12 digits around the outside and the arrow in it)

There is a huge difference updating the mold for every cast (serial #) vs once a month

Why would they do that? Double the overhead? The only smart business decision would be to move the whole company.

You can still grind off the date of any magazines you purchase in Wyoming. It's not illegal and there is no way to prove possession after the laws enactment without the manufacturing date. Of course you'll be stuck with gen 2 and 3 mags.

The lack of an exact date wasn't discussed during testimony.

Magpul did state that including a serial number would constitute an undue burden.

Alll metal / Al mag mfg date stamp their mags. and or mark them restricted LE/Mil. It's easy to see on all of them, Unless you only own magpul's. Including a date stamp in the mold process isn't that hard, just some retooling/ initial cost
