And that's those that were appealed. There was roughly 15000 denials (2.1%) last year, half of those appealed, and half of those appeals resulted in being overturned. 1912 of those ~15000 denials would not have been caught by NICS, supposedly.

FYI, one of those was my mother. A 59 year old woman fighting cancer that lives alone in an apartment complex in Fort Collins. She had an arrest in the 70's (before I was even born) and was denied due to the 'deny on arrest' clause in the state of Colorado. Wow... I sure feel like we dodged a bullet there. Who knows what evil she could have pulled off with a Glock 26 if approved. /sarcasm

I thought LE was sworn to UPHOLD the law not change them. I guess I have my checks and balances out of whack.

Also, I keep hearing about 'incremental steps' and one of which would be a good example in post #83 above. We don't need MORE incremental steps.

A telling line of HIS testimony was when he painted the picture of the individuals in the theater in Aurora... all I could think of was how he and others were helping keep them unarmed. These laws do NOTHING to help those in these horrific situations they're using to further their cause. Nothing. Hell, several times people have admitted that none of these measures would have prevented a single incident mentioned.

I love her 'statistic' in rebuttal to his stats in the UK how firearm murders rose from 13k prior to control to over 21k in the subsequent years on how they removed background checks in MO and the streets were 'flooded with guns'... Uhmkay. Is that a quantifiable term in any way? No. What about gun crime since that's the ultimate goal here?
