    Default NEW AWB in Congress

    Time to start writing your representatives.
    SEC. 2. RESTRICTION ON MANUFACTURE, TRANSFER, AND POSSESSION OF CERTAIN SEMIAUTOMATIC ASSAULT WEAPONS.
    (a) RESTRICTION- Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding after subsection (u) the following:
    `(v)(1) It shall be unlawful for a person to manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon.

    Link doesnt work, but I imagine congress will wait to see what happens in DC/Heller and will still likely let it die...

    They havent been able to pass another AWB since 96 and it sure as hell wont happen in an election year...

    Like Ridge, I don't see it going anywhere this year.

    What might be more interesting to note, is that it was introduced by a REPUBLICAN.
    And, that ALL THREE cosponsors "so far" are REPUBLICANS.

    Found a working link on ARFCOM...its so rediculous its sure not to get passed...it bans rimfire rifles, shotguns, lever actions, bolt actions, just about everything under the sun...

    Wouldn't matter if it did pass, Heller v. DC would invalidate it damn near immediately. Like the NRA is saying.. Heller isn't the end all be all, but a very serious beginning.
