This is why I cringe every single time I have a friend or colleague laugh and ask me "Do you REALLY think the government is coming after your guns?"

People either don't know their history or tune it out because they don't want to think about it.

Germany in the 30s & 40s... right before sending 7 million Jews to their death
Russia in the 20s & 30s... right before sending 27 millions Russians to their death
China confiscated in the 30s... killed 20 million between 1948 & 1952
Cuba in the 50s
New Zealand registered in the 20s... started confiscation in the 70s
UK started registering in the 20s... started confiscating in the late 90s
Canada registered in the 90s and has already started confiscating
Australia registered in the early 90s and started confiscating shortly after

Canada repealed their longgun registration law last year after spending millions of dollars and confiscating many weapons without lowering crime rates at all. They had it in place for 20 years with no positive results.
